The da Vinci School has a very involved Parent Organization offering a wide array of opportunities for parent involvement. This involvement can be as much or as little as the parent chooses based on their individual time and interests. Throughout the school year, the Parent Organization coordinates social, educational and fundraising events that help build a sense of community at The da Vinci School. Particular attention is paid to new families in the school, so they feel comfortably oriented to the school and experience a sense of belonging.
The da Vinci School is made up of loving, talented and devoted parents! It is not unusual for long-term friendships to develop out of contacts made from involvement at The da Vinci School. We want The da Vinci School to be a supportive learning environment for EVERYONE involved.
Although parents are generally not engaged in activities at the school when the children are present (as little children tend to find this distracting), parents attend class parties, special events, class field trips and sometimes become a special guest for a portion of a day. There are a lot of opportunities for parents to be involved with the school!
Since The da Vinci School is a non-profit organization, the fundraising activities of the Parent Organization play a very important role in the operation of the school. The main fundraising event takes place in the spring and includes an elaborate evening social. The highlight of the evening is a live auction of projects created by the children in each of the classes.
